FIDA Scholarship Recipients 2017

As a part of the annual scholarship distribution visit to the Wadeshwar Ashramshala, FIDA members interacted with the students, parents, Principal and staff members.

Students who excelled in the SSC Exams were felicitated. A general overview of various career opportunities in different fields was presented. The toppers were interviewed in order to pick students for FIDA Scholarships for the year 2017-18.

  2. Manisha Gabale : Diploma in Engineering from Government Polytechnic , Pune.
  3. Varsha Vanzari : B.Com from Commerce College, Talegaon Dabhade
  4. Sagar Lashkari : Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, DY Patil Engg College, Talegaon.
  5. Sonali Hile :  B Com from Modern College.

Mentoring Students

Mentoring students
  1. Manisha Gabale who completed her Diploma in Engineering from the Government Polytechnic, Pune with flying colours was encouraged to pursue her degree program    in Engineering at VIT, Pune. She was counselled and assured of all support by FIDA in the context of her wanting to take up a job due to the sudden death of her brother to support her family.
  2. Pooja Chavan who had dropped out of the program as she was unable to cope with the rigours of a tough curriculum was counselled and motivated to reconsider her choices. She has got admission into the ITI program at Aundh.
  3. Sagar Lashkari, who had fallen off the Program completed his Diploma Program and was counselled to continue with his Degree Program. He got admission into the 2nd year Engineering at the DY Patil Engineering College.
  4. Nisha Gabade, who was pursuing Diploma Program dropped out. She was counselled and based on her interests would be registering for Std XI in the Commerce Stream.

Internship and Placement

FIDA Scholar Pinki Vaze was placed at “Cabinet Systems and Controls” to facilitate on the job learning.

Lunch at the Pimpri Chinchwad Apang Sanstha

A lunch was arranged for students of the Pimpri Chinchwad Apang Mitra Mandal and a token amount was handed over to the institution for the purchase of physio-theraphy equipment. Notebooks were also distributed on the occasion.

Fund Raising

Vinod participated in the Gilberdyke, Jungfrau and Hull Marathons in addition to the challenging Comrades Ultra to raise funds for FIDA.

Mrs and Mr Balachandran requested all gifts in the form of donations to FIDA on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Distribution of Study Material

Study material distribution

Preparatory study material in all subjects was distributed to the tenth standard students appearing in the 2017 SSC Board Exams, to help them in their preparation for the State Board exams.

Volunteering Program

The feasibility of putting in place a volunteering program with FIDA where the volunteers could gain a firsthand experience in understanding  social dynamics and facilitating change is being explored.

Filing of Change Report

All the formalities regarding filing of the Change Report for the Charity Commissioner’s office were completed by Tushar and Sunil and the Change Reports accepted by the Charity Commissioner’s Office. FIDA worked on and put in place a compliance based system for all statutory requirements.

FIDA General Body Meeting

The FIDA Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) was held on 30th March 2018.
