School to School Program
The annual St Josephs- Wadeshwar Ashramshala interaction for the Std VIII students was held at the St Josephs High School Pashan. The students and teachers of St Josephs High School warmly hosted the ashramshala kids and spared no efforts in making it a memorable event for the visiting school. The kids were entertained with a variety of songs, stories, dances and outdoor sports activities. The children from the ashramshala performed folk dances and presented handicrafts made by them to teachers from St Josephs. The day culminated in a prize distribution function and a delicious lunch. The visiting children were delighted when they were handed over colourful goody bags, each packed with over 20 items that the parents of kids from St. Josephs sponsored on the occasion.
FIDA Foundation Scholarships
As a part of the annual scholarship distribution visit to the Wadeshwar Ashramshala, FIDA members interacted with the students, parents, Principal and staff members. The top-5 students who excelled in the SSC Exams were felicitated. A general overview of various career opportunities in different fields was presented. The top-6 students were interviewed in order to pick students for FIDA Scholarships for the year 2016-17.

CSR Initiative
FIDA members interacted with Ms Leena Deshpande, the Head of the CSR Program at Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL) in order to be able to scout for another potential school to adopt alongside Wadeshwar Ashramshala and to check out the ITI project run as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL).
Based on the interaction, two deserving students from the Pune Municipal Corporation schools, Priyanka Dadge and Sonali Tate, vetted by CSR at Bharat Forge were also awarded the FIDA Foundation Scholarships (2016-17). Priyanka and Sonali enrolled for Diploma in Engineering at the JSPM, Pune.

Solar Project
A 750 LPD SS (304) Puff Insulated PC, Solar System Water Tank was installed at the Pimpri Chinchwad Apang Mitra Mandal.
Independence Day Celebrations
It was a pleasure to participate in the Independence Day program at the Pimpri Chinchwad Apang Mitra Mandal where children staged a wonderful cultural program.
Laptop Distribution
Dell Laptops sponsored by Schlumberger were distributed to deserving FIDA scholars who excelled in their chosen fields of study.
Distribution of Study Material
Preparatory study material in all subjects was distributed to the tenth standard students appearing in the 2016 SSC Board Exams, to help them in their preparation for the State Board exams.
Mentor Program
FIDA members interacted with FIDA Scholarship recipients. The FIDA scholarship recipients updated the members on the progress made by them during the year as well as the difficulties faced by them in adjusting to the academic curriculum and urban environment. Solutions were discussed to enable them to cope better with the change.
Movie Time
The Sports film “Chak De” was screened by FIDA at the Wadeshwar Ashramshala on March 17, 2017. It was an extremely exciting experience for the kids as most of them were viewing a film on the big screen for the very first time. Chocolates and popcorn were distributed among them during the interval. In addition to the pure joy of watching the film, the aim was also to introduce the kids to the concepts of discipline, hard work, team spirit and women empowerment.
World CSR Congress & Awards
FIDA was awarded the CERTIFICATE OF MERIT at the World CSR Congress & Awards, held on the 17th February, 2017 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The theme of the Congress was “The Future of Profit is Purpose”.
The recipients of the Certificate of Merit were organisations who had made a difference to the lives of others and were chosen on the basis of the quality of their work, rural reach and ability to contribute value to social change.
